Tennis Elbow

Tennis elbow occurs when the tendons on the outside of the upper arm near the elbow tear or become inflamed. The most common cause is overuse or repetitive twisting like that required for a backhand tennis stroke. Older adults or athletes and weekend warriors who play tennis or other racquet sports have a greater chance of suffering from this painful condition.

What are the signs and symptoms of tennis elbow?

  • Pain, burning and swelling in the elbow
  • Inability to straighten arm
  • Weak grip strength
