The USC Foot and Ankle Center at Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles specializes in the treatment of both common and complex foot and ankle problems from bunions and hammer toes to failed hindfoot fusions and complicated fractures.
Our level of expertise is in part a result of the high volume of complex conditions we treat. We are also adept in revision surgeries often treating patients who have had surgery before but have found little relief elsewhere.
At the forefront of surgical procedures, we use leading-edge approaches for the treatment of foot conditions. For example, our experts specialize in minimally invasive Achilles tendon repair, a procedure not widely available in the community. The procedure involves an incision reduced to an inch, which results in fewer complications and faster recovery than traditional surgery.
We approach conditions of the foot and ankle conservatively, first treating with therapy, shoe modification or anti-inflammatory medications. Surgery is reserved for cases in which patients do not respond to nonsurgical treatments and there is a reasonable expectation for success. Combining experience with compassionate care, we involve our patients in their own care by providing them with all the information they will need to make informed decisions.
Through our collaboration with physical therapists, we are able to provide an individualized rehabilitation plan to return patients to the activities they love.
Our foot and ankle experts also offer a unique approach in the care of professional performers needing treatment for injuries. Learn more at the USC Performing Arts Medicine Center.
